Congratulations to Reiche Community School!

In October, Reiche applied for and just received notice that they were awarded a $5000 NEA Urban Grant to help them with their exploration of an alternative leadership model for Reiche.
In summary:
The Howard C. Reiche Community School is exploring a teacher-led model of operation. The Portland Education Association will use the Urban Grant to fund a leadership development program for the school’s teachers, which will help prepare them to assume leadership. Participating teachers will visit other teacher-led schools for insights, will attend conference(s) on teacher leadership, and will attend community forums focused on leadership, facilitation, and governance.
